Meet our advisor, Dr. Happy Araneta, as she gives her incredible "skinny on Diabetes Among Filipinos" lecture.
Maria Rosario (Happy) G. Araneta, PhD is an associate professor at the UCSD School of Medicine. She received her bachelor's degree in Biology from UCSD and PhD in Epidemiology from Yale University.
She was also recently awarded the American Diabetes Association's Vivian Fonseca Award which promotes and recognizes diabetes research focused on South Asian or Asian American, Native Hawaiian or Pacific Islander (AANHPI) populations and research by a scientist from South Asia or the AANHPI population.
